TER Plastics IBERICA, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, has annouced that it has acquired the plastic division of Proquibasa, effective January 1, 2016. The plastic portfolio of Proquibasa will continue to be available almost unchanged, according to TER Plastics Iberica. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With this acquisition, customers in Spain and Portugal will have access to TER Plastics technical expertise, said the company. It also expands the European footprint of the TER Plastics Polymer Group and will further strengthen its mission of being a leading pan-European distributor of engineering polymers.

TER Plastics IBERICA offers a complete range of engineering plastics and commodity plastics through partnerships with internationally leading plastic producers, together with their own range of TEREZ compounding specialties.TER Plastics IBERICA is part of the TER Plastics POLYMER GROUP headquartered in Herne, Germany.

Proquibasa is a leading, independent Spanish chemical distributor founded in 1966. The company's other business activities in coatings, food & feed, lubricants, personal care, pharmaceuticals and water treatment are unaffected by this deal and continue as part of Proquibasa.
