North American speciality chemicals distributor, KODA Distribution acquires Unipex Solutions Canada
KODA Distribution Group (KDG) and the Unipex Group have announced KDG's acquisition of their Canadian subsidiary, Unipex Solutions Canada, a leading specialty chemicals distributor in the region. The acquisition fits KDG's stated strategy of growing their specialty chemicals distribution business and reinforces their position as the one of the top specialty chemical distributors in North America.

Along with Tempo, we can now service a broader customer base.” Tempo Canada was acquired when KDG bought the DeWolf Companies just over a year ago.
Headquartered in Quebec, Canada, Unipex Solutions Canada is focused on life science markets and industrial specialties segments such as home care, industrial & institutional products, lubricants and oil & gas. The company's diverse customer base is served from locations in Boucherville, Quebec (Montreal) for the Quebec, Maritimes, and North East United States markets and Mississauga, Ontario (Toronto) which servers Ontario, Western Canada, and New York/Michigan area. The company also operates several strategically located warehouses and terminals, including facilities in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver for packaged goods, Halifax, Quebec City, Montreal, Valleyfield, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Calgary for bulk liquids.
Jean-Pierre Pelchat, GM of Unipex Solutions Canada, will continue to lead this autonomous, Canadian division and report to Frank Bergonzi. In 2013 Unipex Solutions Canada achieved sales in excess of $100M and had around 50 employees.
