Brenntag strengthens its industrial chemicals business in Sweden with the acquisition of Fred Holmberg

Brenntag has signed an agreement to acquire the Swedish chemical distributor Fred Holmberg & Co AB headquartered in Malmo. Fred Holmberg is focused on the distribution of organic and inorganic chemicals in Scandinavia and also provides efficient mixing and blending activities. The company's main site is located in Kalmar in the south-east of Sweden, with modern filling lines for packaging goods as well as a direct connection to the harbour to faciliate both imports and exports.

The acquired business is expected to generate total sales of approximately EUR 75.3 million in 2014. The transaction is expected to be closed during the first quarter of 2015.
