Brenntag to acquire Colombian specialty chemicals distributor
Brenntag is to acquire SurtiQuimicos S.A., a distributor of specialty chemicals headquartered in Bogota, Colombia. The company operates from facilities in Bogota and Medellin. The main business focus of the company's activities is the distribution of specialty chemical products and formulations into the paint, food, textile and construction industries.

With the acquisition Brenntag will add capabilities with SurtiQuimicos' state-of-the-art laboratories and the expertise of its technicians for various industry applications.
For the financial year 2014 the acquired business is expected to generate sales of USD 16.1 million. The closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the course of the next weeks.
