Directory Entry for Chemical Distributors & Traders ONLY
Chemical distributors are supply chain intermediaries who buy and sell chemical substances produced by 3rd party chemical manufacturers. They take title to goods and responsibility for stocking and warehousing, before selling the products on to their customers and invoicing under their own name. There is often a formal, agreement between the distributor and the chemical manufacturer (the 'Supplier') whom they represent. Chemical traders take title to goods, but usual buy from the producer or supplier offering them the best deal at the time. Although there is no formal agreement with the manufacturer many reputable traders have long-term relationships with a number of preferred suppliers.
